Soft pull data questions, answered
What data comes with a soft pull lead?
A verified consumer contact record (name and mailing address, plus phone and email where available), a general credit tier, auto tradeline and equity signals, current-vehicle information, and an in-market indicator. The same record powers both CRM follow-up and a compliant mail piece.
Do I get the customer's full credit report?
No. You receive a general credit tier and marketing-permissible signals, not a full credit file. Soft pull leads are marketing records delivered under a Firm Offer of Credit — not a lender’s underwriting pull.
Is a Social Security number included?
No. Soft pull leads don’t require or include the consumer’s Social Security number. You reach qualified, in-market buyers without asking for an SSN up front.
Does receiving this data affect the customer's credit score?
No. The screening is a soft inquiry, which doesn’t affect the consumer’s credit score and isn’t visible to lenders the way a hard inquiry is.
How current is the data on a soft pull lead?
Leads are built from real-time prescreen activity, so the credit and contact data reflects the consumer’s file at the moment the trigger fires — not a stale purchased list.
Can I control which records I receive?
Yes. You set the buy box — credit tier, geography, vehicle and loan signals — and only records that clear your criteria are delivered, so the data you get is already relevant to your store.
